Creatine gummies guide
How much creatine is in a gummy? The label math
How to read a creatine gummy label, work out the grams of creatine per gummy, spot a serving below 3 g, and why the dose on the label can differ from a test.
Creatine gummies come in jars of 60, 90 or 120, with servings of one, three or four gummies. That makes the front of the jar almost useless for comparing products. The Supplement Facts panel on the back has what you need, and a few minutes of arithmetic tells you whether the dose is realistic.
What does the label need to tell you?
Three numbers, all on the Supplement Facts panel:
- Serving size, in gummies (for example, "Serving Size: 4 Gummies").
- Creatine per serving, in grams, ideally with the form ("as creatine monohydrate").
- Servings per container.
If the panel lists creatine inside a "blend" with no separate gram amount, you cannot work out the dose. Skip that product; our creatine gummies list only includes gummies whose label states the creatine per serving and the count.
How do you work out creatine per gummy?
Divide creatine per serving by gummies per serving.
| Label says | Creatine per gummy | Gummies for 5 g | Gummies for 3 g |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 g per 4 gummies | 1.25 g | 4 | about 2.5 |
| 5 g per 5 gummies | 1 g | 5 | 3 |
| 4.5 g per 3 gummies | 1.5 g | about 3.5 | 2 |
| 5 g per 3 gummies | about 1.67 g | 3 | about 2 |
| 3 g per 3 gummies | 1 g | 5 | 3 |
| 1 g per 1 gummy | 1 g | 5 | 3 |
Label formats on our creatine gummies list as of the November 2, 2026 price check. Check your own jar.
Then check how long the jar lasts at the amount you plan to take. A jar of 90 gummies at 1 g each holds 90 g of creatine: 18 days at 5 g a day, or 30 days at 3 g. A jar that says "30 servings" is only a month's supply if one serving is the amount you take.
Is a 3 g serving under-dosed?
Not by itself. The International Society of Sports Nutrition position stand describes a maintenance dose of 3 to 5 g a day, and some people use 3 g. The problem is comparison: a jar with 3 g servings looks the same size and price as a jar with 5 g servings, but holds 40% less creatine. That is why our list prices every gummy per 5 g of creatine, whatever the label calls a serving.
Where a serving falls well below 3 g, for example a single gummy with a few hundred milligrams, the jar is unlikely to supply a daily amount that matches the research unless you eat many gummies.
How much of a gummy is actually creatine?
A gummy is also sugar or sugar alcohol, pectin or gelatin, water and flavor. If a gummy weighs about 4 g and holds 1.25 g of creatine, roughly a third of it is creatine. Gummies that state more creatine each are usually larger. Either way, the label states what the maker put in, and only a test shows what is still there.
Some labels state the gummy weight or serving weight in grams. If yours does, divide creatine per serving by serving weight for the share. If it does not, the creatine per gummy is still the number that matters.
Why can the tested dose differ from the label?
Dry creatine monohydrate is stable. In water it slowly converts to creatinine, which does not act like creatine. The ISSN position stand notes this happens faster at lower pH and higher temperature: after 3 days at 25 °C, about 21% had converted at pH 3.5. One lab study of an acidic creatine drink made from effervescent powder found 90% degradation within 45 days at room temperature. A gummy is not a glass of water, but it is made warm, wet and usually acidic.
That is the chemistry behind the 2024 reports that some creatine gummies tested far below their labels. The story is covered in are creatine gummies worth it?. The takeaway for label reading: the stated dose is a claim, and a gummy is a harder place than a powder to keep that claim true. Batch test results from an independent lab, or a certification such as NSF Certified for Sport, are what close the gap. See how to tell if a supplement is third-party tested.
Gummies can work when the creatine is there. A 2026 randomized trial gave female beach volleyball athletes 5 g a day of creatine as gummies for 10 weeks and reported improvements in jump height and change-of-direction speed compared with a control group. The study was small (32 athletes), and the gummies were donated by Create, one of the brands on our list.

Frequently asked questions
How many grams of creatine are in one gummy?
Most creatine gummies state about 1 to 1.25 g per gummy. Divide the creatine per serving on the label by the gummies per serving to check yours.
How many creatine gummies should I take for 5 g?
With 1.25 g gummies, four. With 1 g gummies, five. The ISSN position stand describes 3 to 5 g a day as a maintenance dose.
Are creatine gummies under-dosed?
Some servings are smaller than others, so compare by grams of creatine, not by servings. Separately, independent tests in 2024 found some gummies held less creatine than their labels stated, so look for batch testing or a certification.
Is it safe to eat extra gummies to reach 5 g?
Taking more gummies adds more sugar or sugar alcohol, which can upset some stomachs. Reviews find 3 to 5 g a day is generally well tolerated in healthy adults. Ask a doctor first if you have kidney disease, and keep gummies away from children.
