Privacy policy
Value Servings is a price comparison site. This policy explains the information we collect, why we collect it, and how to reach us about it.

Who this covers
This policy applies to valueservings.com and the pages on it. Value Servings is a United States website, built for shoppers in the United States, and this policy is written under US law. Value Servings is the operator of the site. We do not require an account.
Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Device and log data. When you load a page, our host records the usual request data: IP address, date and time, the page you requested, the referring URL, browser type, device type, operating system, and language. An IP address can be used to estimate a coarse location such as a city or region. We do not use it to find your street address.
- Site use. We measure which pages and lists people open, in aggregate and, where the tool allows it, as events tied to a browser. That includes pages viewed and the path someone took through the site.
- Buy clicks. When you use a Buy link, we record the listing, the retailer, the time, which button you used, the page you were on, whether you were on a phone or a computer, and a creator code if the link you followed included one. We keep that record so we can see which products people open and so a retailer can attribute a commission.
- A random visitor ID. We set a cookie with a random ID that is not your name or email. It lets us show you the same version of a page each visit when we test two versions, and count Buy clicks per version.
- Your email, only if you give it. Some pages may offer price-drop alerts for a product. If you type in your email, we keep it with the product you asked about and the date. We use it only to send those alerts. Every alert has a way to stop them. We do not sell it or hand it to retailers. You can skip the box and still go to the store.
- Cookies and similar storage. We use cookies and similar technologies, including local storage where a feature needs it, to run the site and to measure use. Details are in the cookies section below.
- Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep the address you used and the contents of the message so we can reply and keep a record of the request.
We do not ask for your health history, and we do not know whether you take a product. A retailer may tell an affiliate program that an order happened after a click. That report is a sale record for commission, not a medical record, and we do not use it to build a health profile.
How we use it
- Operate, maintain, and secure the site.
- See which lists and products people use, so we can improve them.
- Attribute affiliate commissions and credit a creator code.
- Remember a preference if a page offers one.
- Send price-drop alerts to people who asked for them.
- Compare two versions of a page to see which one people use.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and broken traffic.
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not use this information to decide whether a product appears, how it is sorted, or what badge it gets. Affiliate measurement does not change the price on the row.
Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on these bases:
- Legitimate interests. Running a price site, keeping it secure, measuring how it is used, and attributing commissions.
- Consent. For price-drop emails, we rely on the consent you give when you type in your address. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Consent for cookies. Where a law requires consent before a non-essential cookie or similar technology, we rely on that consent.
- Legal obligation. Where we have to keep or disclose information to meet a law.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Necessary. Cookies and storage the site needs in order to load and remember a setting you chose on the page.
- Measurement. Cookies and similar tools that count visits, pages, and referring sites. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics for this. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) that last up to two years. The purpose is to understand traffic and which Buy links people use, not to build an advertising profile. This also includes the random visitor ID described above, which lasts up to a year.
- Affiliate. After you click Buy, the retailer or its network may set its own cookies so it can tell that the visit came from Value Servings. Those companies include Amazon, iHerb, brand storefronts, and the affiliate programs they use. Their cookies follow their policies. We do not control them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking a necessary cookie may break a feature. Blocking a measurement cookie limits what we can see about traffic. Blocking a retailer cookie can stop that retailer from attributing a purchase to us. It does not change the price they charge you.
Who we share it with
- Hosting. The site is hosted on Vercel. Request logs there can include IP address, user agent, and the URL requested.
- Retailers and affiliate networks. A Buy click sends you to the retailer with the information that network needs to attribute the visit, such as a tracking parameter.
- Measurement providers. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics to count page views and Buy clicks. They receive the usage data they need, such as pages viewed, device type, approximate location, and which Buy link was clicked. We do not send them your email address. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Professional advisers and authorities. When we need them to operate, or when the law requires disclosure.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not allow third parties to advertise to you on Value Servings based on a profile they built elsewhere.
Sale, sharing, and privacy controls
Some US state laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, use “sell” and “share” for certain disclosures of personal information, including disclosures for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share personal information in that sense.
A browser signal such as Global Privacy Control is an opt-out of sale and sharing. Because we do not sell or share personal information that way, the site behaves the same when that signal is on. We still treat the signal as your request.
We do not use sensitive personal information, such as health data, to infer characteristics about you.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to get a copy, to opt out of a sale or share, and to appeal a denial. California residents can also use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a right.
People in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland can also object to processing based on legitimate interests, ask us to restrict it, and complain to a data protection authority.
To use a right, email privacy@valueservings.com. Say which right you are using and the state or country you live in. We may need to confirm that the request is yours. We will respond within the time the applicable law requires.
How long we keep it
Server logs are kept for the period our host retains them, and longer if we need them to investigate abuse. Click records are kept long enough to attribute commissions and keep ordinary accounting records. Affiliate windows are often a day to about 30 days. We may keep the click record itself longer than that window. Messages you send us are kept as long as we need them to handle the request and any follow-up. An email you gave for price-drop alerts is kept until you stop the alerts or ask us to delete it. When we no longer need a record, we delete it or strip the identifiers.
Children
Value Servings is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email privacy@valueservings.com and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold. No website or transmission is perfectly secure.
International visitors
We operate from the United States. If you visit from another country, your information is processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from the laws where you live.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. Continued use of the site after the new date means the updated policy applies.
